UCOL Block 7 Strengthening
| CLIENT | McMillan & Lockwood PN Limited |
| PRINCIPAL | Universal College of Learning |
| TIMEFRAME | December 2011 - March 2012 |
With one of the larger classroom blocks identified as a potential earthquake risk, like most seismic strengthening projects one of the first obstacles was establishing a suitable foundation design to fit around the working space restrictions the existing building offered.
One of our Low-Drill units was squeezed into extremely tight areas outside the building to install 900mm diameter bored concrete piles against external walls for the K-Braces, while a small bobcat was used with one of our rotary drilling attachments to fit through the 1300mm wide access way and install the 200mm diameter micropiles, 18.0m deep.
