Countdown Supermarket Kelvin Grove
|CLIENT||Watts & Hughes Construction|
|ENGINEER||Kevin O'Connor & Associates|
|TIMEFRAME||November - December 2012|
Over 140 bored piles were installed as foundations for the supermarket and accompanying retail buildings sourcing new developments in the area. While only small in depth and diameter (maximum 4.5m and 900mm respectively), an extremely strict construction programme offering little tolerance still put the pressure on because of the large quantity of piles. Fortunately the site was located only a couple of kilometres from our main depot making it economical to mobilise multiple crews to ensure the piling deadlines were accomplished. Our 60T Crawler Crane remained on site for a few months where it was utilised by other trades for placement of heavy items such as precast concrete panels.
